We were passing directly in front of the entrance
to Pearl Bay at 17:00 yesterday and decided to pull in for the night. One of our
favourite anchorages and it was deserted other than a resident fishing boat.
Anchor set by 17:30, V&T and crisps in hand by 17:45. Hot shower and hot
food and great sleep.
Up at 06:30, coffee, breakfast bar and check the
engine oil after so much motoring. Needed a litre of oil so set about putting
that in. Dropped the filler cap during the operation and then couldn't find it.
Everything out of the engine room, toolboxes, spares, more toolboxes, floor
boards up...nothing....cuss word or two. Side panel off the other side of
the engine room...nothing...cuss word or three. Noi steps in to help with the
search and immediately finds the bloody thing sitting on the side of
the engine. everything loaded back in the engine room, anchor up and out of
the cut by 08:00, an hour behind schedule but who's counting. Hope the day gets
