The wind died completely at 02:00 this morning and we have been on the engine ever since.

We trailed the fishing line all the way from Bonaire to Curacao to Aruba to Columbia without catching anything so I decided not to try today. Noi told me to get off my arse and do something so I put the line out at 07:00 this morning and at 07:05 caught what has to be a 100lb marlin. about 6' long. Photo's to come!! Noi finally finished filleting 10 minutes ago, 11:00. We have half the freezer packed with it and will be eating marlin for the next 3 months.

Aruba was a great stop. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and pubs but we were ready to leave after a week. We may have left it a day later than we should have. At least yesterday there was some wind about. As it stands at the moment we will be motoring most of the way. This is supposed to be one of the worst areas in the world for weather and we don't even have enough wind for the spinnaker!

Anyway a great start to the day, only slightly diminished by the fan belts breaking on the engine alternator.

Regular update tomorrow and photo update when we get to another internet connection.
