Several good but windy days in North Sound. On Monday we went ashore and taxied to Spanish Town , just for cash, with Bruce and Kerry. The taxi driver then took us back to a restaurant perched on top of a hillside called Hog Heaven - when we paid him off it was almost necessary to repeat the journey for more money!Tthis restaurant has the MOST fabulous views over North Sound, including Necker, Prickly Pear and Mosquito Islands. The surrounding waters are turquoise blue - breathtaking. The restauranter breeds pigs so pork in all shapes and forms emerged from the kitchen. Then, the following day,

At last a sail!
We had a super sail from North Sound Virgin Gorda up to Anegada yesterday morning. The genoa and staysail got us there in 3 hours despite it being pretty hard on the wind ( when you have only motor sailed for weeks on end because of lack of a mainsail you become a little sad about what constitutes a fine sail). The boat, of course, remains " not fit for purpose". The generator is functioning well below par and overheats once you add an extra light bulb to the existing one. Tom launches himself into the bowels of the boat several times a day to tweak levers. Well - you must do something when you are retired.

Now anchored near the Anegada Reef Hotel. The island is almost completely flat and quite beautiful, with a central salt pond hosting a flock of flamingos. The plan today is to go ashore, take a taxi and go to our favourite beach, Cow Wreck, for the day. It will be our first, and probably only, beach day in 5 weeks. Pathetic.

Quite depressed that in 1 week we will have started the complicated journey home.
