Greetings from the Atlantic. We finally turned our engine on 20 mins ago. The most we could get out of the sails was 2.5 knots, which gave us an ETA in Bermuda sometime next month. It has been a delightful 36 hrs with blue/starlit skies, no waves and perfect for sunbathing or building a deck of cards - but not for winning a race! The boys have worked hard at squeezing speed out of the cloth with tweaking, taking in and letting out, changing direction -everything bar blowing into them. Tom occasionally has had to stop for a slice of lime, served inside a bottle of Corona. Chris and James are much more serious and wait for the yard arm -if at all. We have had serious discussions, some political as seems appropriate and will be able to give advice to the new incoming political party(ies?).
Not sure the photo we attached on day 1 ever got on the blog - must be our age. Will try harder.
Best wishes and love from the racers. We keep seeing whale tracks in the water but so far about 3 birds and 1 turtle to report.
