We are anchored at the southern end of St Kitts in a quiet bay, with great views. Nevis looked lovely but we only spent one night there as access to the shore was limited. We were also slightly concerned that the loud music from the shore- until 05.00hrs, might have been a nightly occurrence.........

St Kitts is beautiful and yesterday we hired a car for 3 days to "do" the island. Some caution is necessary as, every now and again, a monkey shoots across the road. They are usually followed by the entire family plus hangers on. When it's not monkeys it's goats and the occasional chicken.....

This morning we drove to the other end of the island to the Brimstone Hill Fortress. It is a World Heritage site and well deserving of the accolade. Our rather underpowered rental car barely struggled up the hill- it must have been tricky for the 8,000 French in the late 1700's!

The wind has become northerly and intermittently strong so, as ever, plans are fluid. Will probably leave on Thursday or Friday, either for Anguilla or the longer hike, sorry, sail to the BVI.
