The thing about sailing is that Plan A goes to Plan B,C,D and on- sometimes in the space of only 24 hrs. It is now March 1st. We arrived in Antigua on Feb 14th with the intention of being here just a few days and it has turned into over 2 weeks....

All very enjoyable though. We had those couple of fun sailing days with friends but have remained based in English Harbour, first at the dockside and, for the last 6 days, at anchor adjacent to Freemans Bay just inside the mouth of English Harbour. One of those weird "coincidences" occurred whilst at the dockside. Another Island Packet 485 parked next door to us. It turned out their boat was the preceding hull number to ours, hull 22 to our 23! It is owned by a delightful English/Australian couple on their way to Australia.

Strong winds have held us within the comfort of the bay for the last week but the winds are weakening and tomorrow the intention is to set sail early for Montserrat. We can see the island from our anchorage, exuding little puffs from the top of the volcano. We will anchor at the opposite end of the island but Tom is anxious to take a taxi and peer into the crater! I'll settle for buying a postcard.

If Plan N works the next update will be from Montserrat.
