We left Tortola last Saturday, Feb 12th for the 200 mile sail to Antigua. It was not the most glorious journey - 25 to 30 knots on the nose. We fuelled up just before departure and, after 8 hours the engine coughed. There was water in the separator and Tom had to dive into the engine with me as the scrub nurse to dismember it and empty out WATER in the fuel. He had to do this 3 more times before we crept into Falmouth Harbour at 00.30hrs on Monday morning.

We moved round to English Harbour at daylight and are in Nelson's dockyard. It must be almost the most idyllic Marina in the world. We have polished fuel, swum, had a hairy bus ride to St John to the market and, the last couple of days teamed up with friends to sample culinary and liquid delights.

Yesterday we sailed to Carlisle Bay and 12 of us crammed on board for lunch- great fun. We used the engine on the way back and were happy NOT to see any water in the fuel!

The plan is to explore more of Antigua in the next few days before heading back in a westerly direction.
