A good 30 mile sail to Lerkil ( 57:27.3N, 011:54.8E ) in constant pouring rain, but compensated with a good F4/5 wind which pushed us along at a fairly constant 6 to 7 kts, again with a reef when needed to reduce heel and make things more comfortable. Much sitting inside with the heater on to keep dry and let the autopilot do the work.  Some careful navigation needed at times in fairly poor visibility, but we found Lerkil easily enough. 28 miles in 5 hrs 20mins , more or less all under sail.

To be fair to Lerkil nowhere looks very exciting in the pouring rain, but once again we found the total abscence of people rather strange. This was a 400 berth marina, with absolutely no one at work ; no harbour master or staff, and no one in the boatyard. Eventually the harbour master did appear in the evening to collect the berthing fee, and did so by banging on the front of the boat, directly above where Michael was having an early evening snooze, which did not go down too well.

We put the cockpit tent up again so that we could dump all the wet gear there and keep the boat dry, and we are down to sub 5 minutes to erect the tent now. It does make a great difference in helping to dry out gear after a wet trip.

However, Lerkil's great secret was about to be discovered....the 'pizzeria'. We went along with low expectations frankly, but this turned out to be a great little restaraunt run by a group of Assyrian guys who were extremely helpful and served up some good food. We decided to pass on the kebab pizza, but it turned out they also served local fish, which was excellent.

There are no pics for Lerkil, since there really was nothing to take a picture of.
