We set off today from Helsingor for Torekov ( 56:26.7N, 012:37.6E ) , in a rather hazy warm morning, which turned quire chilly once out in the channel.

We motored for just over an hour directly into wind, to make ground on leaving Helsingor and heading out into the Kattegat, being careful to keep out of the shipping channel, with its fairly constant stream of commercial traffic. As soon as we were clear of the TSS and had a good wind angle for Kullen point ( a headland we had to clear to make Torekov), we switched off the engine and had a good few hours sailing close hauled in a F4.The sea was fairly lumpy and Moondog punched through them smoothly.

Michael, being a keen and experienced dinghy sailor, was our helm for much of the day and had a great time tweaking the sails and generally getting the best speed out of the boat.  We even had a man over board practice when I lost my cap, and we ( Michael ) quickly recovered it under sail.  A useful practice and one to be repeated.

The approach to Torekov was easy and we quickly found a vavcant mooring and moored without drama. Torekov is a nice little fishing harbour with a small marina.  Found a nice restaraunt for dinner, and more excellent fish.

Today wasa good mix of sailing and motoring, covering approx 30 miles, which is proving to be a very comfortable distance for this type of day sailing up the coast....taking about 6 hours or so .If the weather holds it is Falkenberg tomorrow.
