A good sail to Varberg ( 57:06.7N, 012:14.3E), but in mixed weather.  We had the wind astern for much of this leg and experimented with the pole, to goosewing the genoa ( ie set it on the opposite side of the boat to the mainsail).  We had mixed success last time we tried this, but we got our act together this time and it worked fine. We determined that we needed shroud protectors to avoid damaging the pole, and luckily were able to buy some later in the day in Varberg. Lots of sail trimming with Michael, and very stable under pole and preventer on the main ( a rope to stop it swinging around unexpectedly...can be very alarming...)

Varberg was a nice spot, although our marina was some distance from the town. Very good facitities, but a large number of free moorings in this large marina. It will be very different in a couple of weeks when the local holidays start. This is clearly a very popular Swedish summer resort area, with large camping sites and many summer houses. Beautiful beach and rocks down to the sea, as you can see in the pics..
