You would think that getting from Vilamoura to Lagos a distance of 26 n
miles in a flat sea with no wind and the sun shining would be a simple
exercise!! After all we have travelled across 16 countries and covered
just short of 5000 n miles.With 5 miles to go the engine came to a
grinding halt! water was spraying through a plastic fitting on the sea
water intake and corrosion had broken the electrical connection to the
gearbox. Rum an old friend and top engineer came out from Lagos diagnosed
the problem,reconnected the broken wire and 3 hours later we limped in to
our destination and tied up alongside Festina Lente.
Mission accomplished!!
