May 31st ---and still raining the weather has been awful, when will it end we thought by now we would be in shorts. The only shorts we have had is a whiskey to warm us up!

Now nine hundred km down the Danube , we will will be in Serbia in the morning apparently now only takes one hour to check in we will see!

Our unexpected few days in Gonyu turned out to be a pleasant time, apart from two nights on the training wall, which was a bit scary! when large  barges went past, and left a huge wake which really rocked us. This happened every few hours, we held on for dear life. hoping the boat would not crash the other side of the wall and cause more damage. The local water police came out to us, check if we needed a Doctor etc, but it was Saturday and nothing could be done till Monday. We just had to wait, we had endless games of cards, Nick mostly winning as usual. Watched Dad's Army, Yes Minister, the sole choice of our DVD collection provided by Mannering himself!

The people were lovely, everyone was so helpful, we became quite famous even the local paper  featured us with a picture. Though fame can travel far and wide! when we arrived in Viking Marina in Budapest the first thing we were greeted with was, we saw your picture on face book!  Fame will not change us,  we are still the same  people as before!

Lets hope it stops raining!
