Sunday we woke to see that the sun has returned and the good news that the
locks letting us into the Mosel had opened.
A very enjoyable day going through 9 locks and covering 43km. Only one
hold up in Pompey for 2 hrs waiting for the river level to subside.
We were two days in Toul ,we arrived the first night wet through and tired
from all the locks. The rain was relentless all day, we were hoping for a
nice place to eat, but no luck only a bar with a grumpy fellow who
supplied us with a bit of pâté, and wine then produced a bill for 50
euros. We then went back to the boat and had pasta! The next day we
realised that we were only a few streets away from the main town. At least
we had showers and a washing machine ,which uncle Dave proceeded to fill
with most of his stuff! He must have had 8 pairs of underpants. Nick and I
are very good at turning them inside out!
