Position 48:43.6N 04:35.6E the end of the Canal lateral de la Marne.
Yesterday we had a leisurely day starting at nine (on Sunday the locks
don't open until nine) and travelled 15 km through six locks and arrived
in the Port de Plaisance in Vitry. We will stay here for a week as the
next Canal a la Marne au Rhin is closed and does not open until Monday the
29th April.
Could be worse we have struck lucky , the mooring is secure with water
and electricity, hot clean showers ,and a washing machine. Widow Twankys
laundry has been on the go today, and the sun has shone all day.we are
all clean boys and girls now. We have found Lidle, not as good as my
local one, but good enough. Rose at 2 euros and very drinkable! Honest.
Dave keeps telling me we are on Nicks slave ship! My ship mates have
been messing about, doing jobs as you do , changing oil, sewing! We have
hired a car and will explore some of the area while we have to wait for
the locks to open. Good job we are not on the one that is shut for a
month!
All enjoying. Just the one !
