Day 14 22.15 UT
We have had a pretty damp existance over the last 2
days and really, coping with the variations in wind and constant rain we have
been unable to get to the pc. Things are now reasonably good insofar as it is
not raining, our course is not bat considering the winds refusal to be a NE
trade.
We have decided that we are in the FIAT
lattitudes as insteadf of the wind coming from 65 / 75 M it is constantly coming
from 124, 125, 126, 127, 128, 130, 131, 132 and on occasions, (I'm sure the new
models), 140 and 165M.
Mr grib assures us that tonights the night when we
should get what we have wanted and alow us to capitalise on our southerly
position, keep the fingers crossed.
We had no real problems today apart from a sudden
broach when the wind went from 8-10 apparent to 30, minor mayhem, mopped up
pretty quickly, the kite survived but we broke two battens in the
main.
All are well and it was nice to talk to home for
everybody this evening.
Will report on Mondays activity in the late
afternoon, all going according to plan. We are approx 800 miles from
st lucia, a mere round Ireland!
Happy days,
Bye.
