Day 12.
Weather a little better today, wind really not as
expected. We have gybed again to take the most direct route to st lucia and are
now making 270-275M course to steer is 288.
We had a cory's shearwater with us today for about
an hour, he just kept gliding around the boat with practically no wing movement,
just the wind and wing angle. He looked hungry so we gave him a slice of our
best spanish cured ham, he spotted quickly, turned and landed in the water where
he took a quick rest, swallowed the ham, a few quick steps in the water to
windward and he was off again.
A couple of minor repairs today, the stack pack for
the main sail had started to break down a bit, so the local dressmakers, Chris
and Kevin sorted it out with some ingenious stitching and a sail tie. Tim has
being playing a stormer in the galley and has prepared fresh bread and chilli
for this evening.
Thanks for all the mails, its great to hear whats
happening at home. Just about to download todays mails, check the forecasts and
plan the next few days in terms of navigation.
will be back tomorrow, have a good weekend on
land.
