THIS IS A RESEND OF THE PREVIOUS ENTRY AS THE MAILASAIL SOFTWARE IS TAKING
THE DAY 16 FROM THE SUBJECT AND THINKING ITS A LATITUDE. (THANKS
PAUL) Day 16 14.50 UT
Hello from the Atlantic, The wind eventually came
good yesterday and we were making good spped and direction for the last 24h. we
have been sailing at 7.5 to 8 knots most of the time on a course 10 - 15 degrees
N of our st lucia way point. We have just gybed and are on a course of 275 - 280
towards st lucia, with aprox 550 miles to go.
Tim is currently making bread to have with this
evenings dinner, which i think will be prawns in some format. The sun is
shining, the sea looks great and IT'S DRY.
We had a funny situation last night with wind
direction, I think it was about 04.30 UT. We had been sailing in a wind coming
from 90 - 100M and there was a shift to approx 140. We decided to monitor it for
30 min to see was it real or a temporary change. After 40 mins we decided to
gybe, everybody organised, gybe ho, and guess what!
The wind shifted back to 90 degrees as we went
through the gybe, this happened on two further occasions and we were wondering
are the gods playing games or is there an electronic fault. It eventually
settled so we have great respect for the relevent boss of fun / wind, Aeolus'
cousin filling in for a while.
At this stage I think we will all be glad to see
land.
We spoke to an American yacht yesterday she was
about 0.25 mile away from us, it was the same one we had seen coming from the
south previously, her name is Boundless, we got come pictures of her to pass on
to the skipper when we arrive.
Will post another entry tomorrow, our forecast is
to remain pretty much the same, E 20 kn becoming ENE tomorrow.
Bye for now.
