The reason why we are heading South so early in the season:

 

We have some Osmosis in the hull of Quicksilver which needs treatment and to do this we have booked to have QS hauled at the Power Boat Marine yard in Trinidad from the 1st of May for what could be six months, the time of the hurricane season here in the Caribbean. 

Chris will begin the work while I visit the UK, you will all remember my niece, Hayley, well she is getting married on the 2nd of June to the fabulous Phil Rogers and I just couldn’t miss that!

I have booked my flight with British Airways from Port of Spain, Trinidad to London Gatwick, arriving 9th May 08.45 departing Gatwick 11th July 10.10.  It is my plan to go from Gatwick to Shildon and then with Mam & Dad travel to Glenborrodale where I will sort and pack some ‘stuff’ from both Raineach and Foresters and then return to Shildon 25th/26th/27th June for wedding preparation......... the week after the wedding I will return to Scotland for a week or so to sort out mail, dentist, optician, doctors all that kind of thing, and until I get there cannot really be anymore precise about where and when ..... The only definite at the moment is my arrival & departure date and the booking for the wedding so I hope to see as many of my friends as I can and I will keep you informed of my plans.
