We arrived in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe after a
cracking sail straight from Dominica. Winds 5 - 35 kts, 3 metre swell with
very heavy rains squalls, we decided to keep going past the Saints and make
first stop here. First impressions are good, Guadeloupe
being French the shopping promises to be good and as PP is the home of
the Route de Rhum yacht race it is a very popular yacht spot so there are loads
of chandlers and Chris is Very happy! It is also a busy port so
plenty to see and do. We plan to be here for a few days and then go up
through the Riviera Salee Channel to the North of the Island and spend a few
days around there before we move on to Antigua. x
