From the Lilypad of .... Serendipity!
Wednesday April 29th, 2015 North Atlantic Ocean 19 21.2N 66 28.3W Today's Blog by David (Time zone: BST -5.0; UTC -4.0) We set off from the British Virgin Islands this morning. I am presently enjoying my first night sail for circa 13 months to the north of San Juan on passage to the Bahamas. The sky is clear and starry – the wind is warm – and we are still in our shorts at night! We left Nanny Cay on Friday ahd headed for Savannah Bay in Virgin Gorda for a quiet night off a beach. Saturday to rendezvous with Anastasia Jost Van Dyke for a walk to the Bubbly Pool. This is formed by the sea rushing through a small gap in some rocks. Inside the waves run up and sluice through the gap making lots of noise – and bubbles – and sloshing around the bathers assembled in the pool. The pool is not bubbly unless there is a surf running: And when it does it can be quite exciting! Sunday to Norman Island for a quiet night at anchor but not before a snorkel at the Indians: A barracuda looking for a fight Monday was my birthday (again) when I was presented with my own, personalised lily pad to sit on: Courtesy of Lenie – such a resourceful woman Peter and Jane ( Off Duty but ex Trompeta) kindly hosted champagne and canapés where we were joined by Phil and Andrea from Anastasia and Leo from Bubbles The ladies warming up on Off Duty Before repairing to the Pirates Restaurant … ….for dinner. Back to Serendipity for one of Andrea’s chocolate cake desert! Yummy! |
