We have now been in Salalah for about 3 weeks.

When we had been here

A decision was made by most of the members of the rally not to sail on.

This decision was based on increased pirate activity, the capture and killing of our friends on Quest and the piroting of IMG.

It was pretty nerve wrecking sailing from India to here and we realised in hindsight just how dangerous that trip was.

We have now been able to book a ship to come here and transport all 20 yachts to Turkey.  We will continue our sailing from there.

Whilst we are here we are spending our time doing maintenance work on the boat, some local sightseeing and spending some time relaxing at the Hilton hotel.  We have taken out membership so we can use the facilities including the gym and swimming pool.

Here are some local pictures:

Camels by the roadside..                                      one of the main streets in Salalah with the mosk

Island Kea II against the wall                                   Chris and Mark coming ashore..  this involves using the dinghy and

Climing up a steep ladder  - not easy at times, especially at low tide.

Katrin and Chris trying on some local fashions.. don’t think we will changing our normal day wear.

We have to dress conservatively here though with long sleeves and long skirts and certainly not shorts when we go out.
