We arrived on the west side of Panama Wednesday
17th of Feb. We are now in a rather windy and rolly anchorage and we need
to take turns staying on the boat to make sure that we don't get blown onto the
boat next to us.
The transit through Panama was very good. We
went through just rafted to one other boat. the first 3 locks were on the
Tuesday evening and then we stayed tided to a buoy overnight with 6 other
yachts. it was quite a party atmosphere. We had a transit advisor on
board on tues and Wed (two different ones) but they were both friendly and
relaxed, nothing like the horror stories we have been told.
Going through the last locks, some blue water rally
people turned out to watch us and we know that quite a few friends were looking
on the webcam which was brilliant.
We are now waiting for a new autopilot, new
spinnaker car and watermaker membranes and once we have all this sorted we we
head up to the Galapagos, perhaps stopping in Perlas Islands if we have
time.
we had a meal out with the rally on Wednesday night
and attended the Galapagos briefing on Thursday morning.
It is great to be part of the rally
again.
We can relax a bit at last and we are using the
opportunity to get on with a few jobs.
I will try to post some photographs in the next few
days
