51:34.15W The rest
of yesterday was really nice.  we had between 16 and 24 kts all afternoon
and all night.  We poled out the main jib on one side and the main sheeted
out on the other, and we are still running wiht this now doing just over 7
kts. Last night
was wonderful. Nice and warm so only needed to wear shorts and T shirt for night
watch.  The sky was full of stars and the seas reasonably calm.
We see this morning that we have a flying fish in the aft cockpit but it is not
big enough to actually cook! The chef
of the evening last night was Steve and we had freshly cooked chicken
Curry.  Every day so far we have had fresh food and there is still food in
the freezer and a bit of veg left so we are doing pretty well. Yesterday
the autopilot stopped working again and we found that the bolt on  the
hydraulic drive had sheared.  Luckily we had a spare so Steve and Tom fixed
this and I got the job of repacking the aft locker this time.  The number
of times the bicycles have been in and out is quite significiant now and we just
have to make sure we use them to justify all the work around carrying
them. We have
now been able to dry out all the wet clothes and the boat has been aired and
spirits are high.. We know
that quite a few boats will be ahead of us in St Lucia, but we are happy to
arrive safely and Friday sounds a good day to arrive, you never know it might be
Thursday night if we make good speed - so we are at the whims of weather and
wind. Katrin |
