Hi All,
We are still in St Lucia.  The day after Alex and Inga went back we both came down with a bad cold and we are still recovering.  So we have not even been to the beach this year yet, a pretty bad performance really but we have really not felt up to it.  Tom left the boat yesterday catching a flight to Grenada to join his next boat which is going to Australia.  So his dream of sailing accross the Pacific again this year looks like coming true.  So it is just the two of us now.  We got one of the autopilots back yesterday and Steve fitted it this morning, we are going to go out for a trial sail tomorrow to test it properly.
We are planning to leave St Lucia and head north to Martinique Tuesday or Wednesday and then work our way up the chain up to the BVI's.
Last night Alex phoned me asking if we were OK  as Falmouth coastguard had just phoned him to advise that one of our Epirbs had gone off.  We were in the bar at the time (how unusual) and Steve went back to the boat to check.  It looks like the old one we have was playing up and it has not been dismantled, but we also had a call from St Marteen to check if we were OK on the Sattelite phone.
It is obviously embarrasing to raise a false alarm, but it is good to know that they are taken seriously and action taken to ensure we were OK.
I now have Skype working on one of the laptops which is great as it means I can make really cheap phonecalls whenever we can find a broadband connection.  So I was able to make calls today costing nearly nothing..

It has been quite difficult to get used to the heat and as it keeps raining in the nigh we keep having to shut the windows which means it gets really hot.  It is more the humitiy than the heat but being born in Iceland the body is not geared up to hot climates
