We have now been in St Lucia for just over a
week.  Lesley and David arrived two days ago on Saturday.  The plane
was a bit late and we went for a walk on the beach while we
waited.
Sunday we hired a car and went for a drive.  We
had lunch and snorkled and swam at Anse Chastenet  and went out
for a indian meal in the evening.  Yesterday, Lesley and I went to the
market, the same as the natives go to for their vegetables and fish.  The
people here are very friendly and whilst having a beer, one guy asked Lesley to
marry him and forgetting to get my change from a lady for lettuce, we had her
chasing (or more like hobbling) after us to give us our money.  I would
have assumed that most people would have kept it, but no.
When we bought the fish there was lively discussion about who
was a better fish filleter, myself from or Iceland or him, but when I watched
him, he would have won hands down!
When I asked how much the plantains were, she nearly fell off
her chair, she was not used to white people knowing what they were as most of
them think they are ripe bananas.
Having stocked up on the supplies for the boat for the next
few days whilst sailing, we had a lovely meal in a restaurant reached by
dinghy.
