We've got a hole in our boat...
Position: 39:06.64N 001:30.92E - Portinatx, Ibiza
The last time I was in Portinatx was about fourteen years ago with my then best friend who got stung on the nipple by a jelly-fish. He's since moved on but the jelly-fish haven't, which is a shame as the water from the boat to the shore is the most beautiful turquoise and it's so hot a dip in the sea is just what we want. Chris risked his feet off the bathing platform but soon changed his mind.
We're now temporarily stuck on DecaDance: Yesterday Chris came to pick me up from the shore where I'd spent four and a half hours using a cafe's WiFi and in that time only only just managed to achieve updating my anti-virus software. So I was feeling a bit annoyed. Not as annoyed as when we got back to the tender to find someone had cast it away. It was stuck on rocks just a few hundred metres away so fortunately it was retrievable, unfortunately it's got a couple of great big gashes on its belly. A temporary repair allowed us to go to shore for mum to treat us all to char-grilled steaks but it was so temporary we were bailing out all the way back. We hoisted her on the deck this morning for the four mile hop here, and now Chris is sticking sticky patches here, there and everywhere. We've got an inflatable kayak that we could use to get to shore but no adapter to blow the bloomin' thing up.
So in about an hour, when the sticky bits have set, Chris and I are going to attempt the oh-so-near-and-yet-so-far journey to the beach. We need something to go with tonight's roast veggies and to ask about whether we can sort all the rest of the bits and bobs we need to do locally - an ever growing list which now includes permanent tender repairs and a pump adapter. Wish us luck, we may be some time!
