We both enjoy a warm climate but Darwin was at a different level, 36 degrees and very humid. The advantage of staying in the marina was running water, but it was never cold so a quick shower didn't really cool the body!
On the other hand the buses which were free (due to a system glitch) had very good A/C & most days we had our A/C fix! Apart from preparing the necessary paperwork for Indonesia, our stay in Darwin extended to 4 weeks once Phil had fixed the genoa furler as we were hopeful of some replacement parts for the main B&G auto-pilot, but eventually the answer was 'not available too old!'
Beginning to feel 'too old' is following us!
On one of our A/C bus fixes we visited the Darwin Aviation Museum, which houses a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress bomber plus many other interesting (to the enthusiastic) aircraft . Darwin was extensively bombed during WW11 and the museum included this history, which was a good alternative interest to all the aircraft!
