A day passage took us across to Santa Cruz, a busier island with population of 15k and the hub of the tourist industry.  Here we saw from the pier sharks, mantas and a turtle just for starters.  At the fish market pelicans, a lava gull (only found in Galapagos) and a heron waited for the scraps plus a greedy sea lion.

A walk through the nature reserve we spotted various of Darwin's famous finches.  This walk took us to the beach where the turtles lay their eggs, we missed the latest turtle but her returning to the sea track was still clear. Plenty of marine iguanas amongst the mangroves and on the surf.  In the town we enjoyed a meal out - street party style - the road was closed off and the tables from all the food outlets lined the street.  Fortunately, our neighbours spoke good English !
