We spend our final night at Vilagarcia Marina, a convenient place to do final jobs before lift out. The biggest job was to drop our sails ..... we discovered that our wonderful new 135% genoa which is made from a far better (stiffer) material than our old one and has a padded luff, is really difficult to fold on the deck. After several exhausting attempts we finally managed it and by some miracle squeezed it into the bag.

Wednesday 31st August - we filled up with diesel at Xufre and arrived at the lift out dock at 5pm as planned. Nito was on the dock waiting for us and Alejandro quickly arrived, fired up the 180 tonne crane to lift us out. Although it was a sad moment, it is reassuring being somewhere we know and with rain and gales forecast, it seems time to go home.
