Bonaire: A submarine voyage on a day that threw wind and rain at us, seemed the only way for we non-scuba divers to really see below the surface. We were ferried out to the sub which then proceeded to dive to 132 feet as we watched fish, rays, coral and wrecks glide by - good fun!

The following afternoon we watched the children's parade - it seemed the whole island was involved - very colourful and loud.
We were delayed as our parts had not arrived, so took ourselves to the movies to see "The Kings Speech" (finally) - brilliant!

Parts arrived late on thursday so we departed Aruba friday morning for a 2-3 day sail to Cartagena, Columbia. Weather pattern looked good for the next 4 days .
2 days, 6 hours later after a great downwind sail we tied up alongside at Marina Club de Pesca, met by our agent David whom we had pre-arranged to complete the necessary cutoms and immigration paperwork. After handing him our boat papers and passports (were we mad???) which he would return the following morning, we had officially "arrived" - even though the marina wasn't interested in our paperworkuntil the following day! We feel safe enough, there is a very high security presence everywhere and the guards at the marina are armed!

Cartagena: How wonderful to be back in an vibrant city with a richly preserved history and so much to see and do. We spent yesterday wandering around the old walled city, enjoying a long lunch and a few beers and watching the world go by. We will be here for three more days before we head off for the San Blas Islands.
