Finally got away from Prickly Bay, Grenada early saturday 12th (saw the enormous caterpillar the night before we left, eating everything in sight!). Forecast 20K ENE. To fill our water tank we slipped into Port Louis Marina, St George, (Grenada) - by which time it was pouring and blowing 30kts - decided to stay the night! Marina crew get about on Segway's - great fun inspite of the rain. Enjoyed an aperitif or two with a group of retired French professionals on a charter catamaran - a two week charter from Martinique, not impressed with the weather, but we shared stories and laughed a lot!

Departed early sunday and anchored in Chatham Bay, Union Island by 2.30 pm after motor sailing for most of the day. Dickie worked on his lures - never a moment missed to catch a fish! A beautiful bay, few yachts - a couple of BIG ones as pictured. Swam, snorkeled, enjoyed the new kayak and remembered how nice it was to be here in the sun again.

Departed Union Island early today (Monday) and set a course for Bequia. Not long before squalls and 30kts from the ENE again! A Pan Pan saw us heading another 4 miles west to standby an American monohull who had hit something (thought to be a container by the skipper) and sheared off most of his rudder. Eventually the St Vincent and Grenadine Coast Guard RIB arrived (very re-assuring for all of us!) to stand by while they waited for a tug. We continued on to Bequia, weather still very inclement - squalls and 30 kts - a long day!

Have spent quite a bit of time in Bequia, fun memories of Christmas 2009 with Geoff and Annie and Brad and Kat - will head off tomorrow for Young Island Cut, St Vincent - looking forward to meeting Dick in the evening.
