Our time in Raiatea was well spent. The electrician returned on saturday
with our original autopilot repaired and operational again, so now we have a
working spare on board!
The Boundless crew enjoyed a couple of meals on shore, including a fun
evening with Roger and Marion (Marionette 1V) and a Canadian couple.
Dickie and I enjoyed a good coffee in Uturoa, the main town and watched a
drum and dance performance, all part of the Heiva celebrations.
After final preparations, we departed Raiatea yesterday and covered 200
miles in just over 24 hours. 15-30 knots of E/SE and 2-4 metre seas, 2 reefs in the main, jib in and out depending on weather passing through! 3 hours on watch each and 6 off works well and means we all had a reasonable sleep last night after delicious pressure cooker stew for dinner, pork chops tonight. Our course takes us just south of Palmerston and Nuie, so we will decide as we get closer whether we will stop at either place or not.
1,087 NM to go to V'avau.
