Friday Day 20

BARONESS
Jim & Christine Lister
Sat 4 Jun 2011 00:24
Our position at 8.00am was 07.10.20S 130.41.60W COG 250 SOG 5.5k Wind 15k ESE waves 2m.
We had a fairly busy day yesterday. I made bread which was like rocks so they went overboard. Think the flour was stale. Jim caught a small Mahi Mahi which he was going to put back but it bled when he tried to get the hook out so we decided better in our tums than Mr Shark's. As he was hacking and dispatching the fish the clouds were building and looking ominous so we then reefed in. We had a bit of rain, not enough to wash the boat down of salt and winds to 18k but then during the night the wind dropped and we ended up rocking and rolling both of us unable to sleep and drinking coffee at 1.00am. We didn't shake out the reefs as we couldn't see what the clouds were doing, don't forget we have no radar due to the chart plotter not working. But we got full sails up before 7.00am and with 13+ wind we have romped on. We have less than 500 miles to go and it looks like Tuesday will be land fall day.
Last nights tea was Stir fried Mahi marinade in Asain and sesame dressing with mixed stir fry beansprouts etc and noodles. Jim did it and it was really nice.
