BARONESS

Tue 17 May 2011 23:19
Our position at 8.00am was 01.50.71S 93.58.34W COG 260 SOG 5+K wind 12K from south.
We had times yesterday when we were thrown about and others when it wasn't too bad, It calmed down nicely for the night and it was quite a nice night with bright full moon although cloudy. Not that I saw much of it as I slept well.
We saw a Ray during the day and at about 6.00pm we saw a stick with a flag on it off the port side, later we saw one off the starboard side and we were able to sail up to it to have a look. No idea what it was just a stick with a black plastic float and a fishing float tied to it. Position was 01.36.75S 92.52.07W at 6.30pm. We were in about 3000 meters of water.

Today the seas are down a bit and we have had sunshine but its not too hot, just comfortable. We took out the reef this morning as winds have been constant at 10 - 14k and we seem to have been doing 6+k although we have the plotter off to conserve power and don't really need it as there's nothing much to look at.

Jim had 3 bites yesterday but all got away and nothing at all today.
