We left Hiva Oa this morning about 7.30am as there was a catamaran very close and they were leaving their boat. We are now at 09.45.79S 139.06.43W. We have had little sleep for 3 nights due to the constant rolling. Trying to do anything on the boat was so difficult as it was rough. My back and neck got very stiff and sore during the nights due to being sloshed form side to side so we decided to move. We could not clean the boat where we were as water dirty brown as well as the swells. We left as the cat. next to us was close to our anchor and they had booked to go horse riding! more fool them as it was blowing a gale, raining and very overcast. But still we went with huge seas and 25k of wind, it was not fun but we only had 10k to go to Tahuata. It was quite a struggle to get here not helped by towing the dingy but once around the corner of the Island things improved. We passed several nice looking bays but our "fleet" seemed to be anchored in one bay but we thought we would look at the next bay which was empty! We were all alone in Point Vitivti for a couple of hours before an American boat came in what a bummer! but they have anchored quite a way behind us as we have gone in quite close to shore and no one can anchor either side of us. The bay has a nice sandy beach, clear blue sea and we can sea the bottom. I am hopeful of lobsters lurking in the rocks beside us. There is a weather system coming through so we will sit tight for a few days. Washing is hung out and Jim has scraped off the barnacles but we still have the sides to clean and the dingy to empty from all the rain we've had and the bottom needs a clean. We would also like to fit the fins we have for the outboard and change the air intake as in rough seas the thing conks out due to water getting in. Northern Rose are just around the corner and Jim has gone off to visit them taking them some drinking water.
