BARONESS

We made it to Shelter Bay on 10 March. We are currently at 09.22.13N 79.56.99W. We have completed our entry formalities with immigration and customs, and are expecting to be measured on 14 March, ready to go through the canal.

The trip here from Bonaire was variable; we had all sorts of weather, with the good being in the first few days, and then big seas and strong winds followed. The day we arrived, the seas were starting to lay down a bit. We are on a dock here in Shelter Bay, which is quite nice, but very expensive.

We have a few bits and pieces to do on Baroness to ready ourselves for the canal and the Pacific Ocean. There are the usual maintenance things, but we also have other things such as our wind generator and solar panel regulator has packed in. The push button switches on our Link 2000 panel, which helps monitor and control charging and inverting has developed a fault. We'll get it sorted and be ready for the date we get to go through the Canal. Son, Mark, will be joining us here and doing the canal crossing with us - we are looking forward to that. He will fly out when we have a date for going through the canal, which we expect to have by Monday evening or Tuesday.
