staying north of the course

I spoke to Hamish early this morning – he says he is a bit tired, but all is well on board, and they are making good progress. 

Last 24 hours run was 180 miles and they had 403 miles left to run to Tonga

They were in 35 knots ESE with gusts to 40 and 2m seas, but it was right up the transom and they were running comfortably with genoa poled out wing-on-wing with main and 2 reefs.

Heading 280T and making 8 – 8.5 knots.

We agreed it is better to keep north of the line for now to avoid the high wind speeds on the SE side of the low.

Tomorrow winds should be lighter and more northerly.
