We went to town today, much evidence of the hurricane with some buildings rebuilt and others still decimated. Much talk with locals about the up coming cricket, and they are renovating the cricket buildings.

Anyway we were coming back in the dinghy and noticed a new boat moored next to us. When we got closer we saw two enormous black flags in the riggings, one of a kiwi and the other the fern. So of course we stopped and introduced ourselves. Quickly established we were in from the Atlantic, and they were in from Cape Horn, and have been away for 6 years. I mentioned my uncle and aunt had enjoyed S Am, and had just brought their first house in nelson after 50 years away. Not Maurice and Katie they said, he's my cousin said the man. Who are you? said I. Malcolm and Joan Dickson. That took about 3 minutes to establish. It's a small world isn't it.

the rest of the day involved shopping for fresh fruit and veges as well as gourmet items and bulk buying of water rice etc - three different places of course but got to see Georgetown as a bonus
