Anchored tonight in St Thomas Bay on Virgin Gorda. Apparently Christopher
Columbus thought that this island looked like a fat virgin lying on her
back. All I can say is that he must have been at sea for a long time!
spent a leisurely morning in Sopers Hole then motored up to Machioneel Bay
on Cooper Island for lunch and a swim. Great snorkeling on a tiny reef just
100m from the boat - big flounder, stingrays, lots of pretty colorful fish.
Lauren and I worked on straightening her hair ( seawater treatment) tonight
she still looks like a movie star so in my humble opinion the hair
straighteners are not required.
came up here to watch for the green flash and despite the requisite Pina
Coladas the only green flash we spotted was when Anne got excited about a
channel marker!
Dinner consisted of the toughest chicken that ever left the roost - it would
have had a better career as a handbag. Everyone was really polite about it
but as the chef M was the only one devouring buzzard.
Left the kids aboard with Grandma Georgie and Doc and we have come ashore in
search of an internet connection.
will head out to the Anegada reef tomorrow - about 10 miles from here, and
the home to about 300 shipwrecks. will be taking extra care that we don't
join them!
