Arrived just before noon yesterday in Admiralty Bay - Bequia (pron.
bekway). Found
it to be a pleasant little town with reasonable services. Wandered about
during the afternoon and bought a few veges at the market, cash from the
bank, internet, diesel petrol and bread. Spent the night at anchor next to
another blue
473 - Malarkey from the UK. They were along the pier from us at Las Palmas.
Trevor and Jo came aboard for Pina Coladas, and stayed for dinner. very
pleasant evening. Had a tour of their ship and we swapped notes on things
we liked and didn't like. Generally agreed that we both have a great boat.
They also happended to buy their boat from Erik Martin at Sunbird! They
have a very impressive set up with cutter rig and a prod for their
asymmetric - inspires me to look into it.
Set off at 0630 for St Lucia 71 miles to the north. Nice breeze from
slightly south of east has us abeam of the Pitons on the SW corner at 1330
hrs. Heading for Rodney Bay tonight - another 22 miles up the coast.
