It was great to have a talk to the boys this afternoon on the satellite phone.

Hamish reports all well on board.

Currently about 150 NM south of pacific entrance to Panama Canal making 4.5 knots 180S into a 12 knot breeze right on the nose.

Very hot during the day time with this light and fickle head wind – at night it has been glassy calm.  Departed 24 hours ago and have motored for 18 of the last 24 hours.

Very happy with progress so far, and pleased to be sailing even if rather slowly.

The boats that left 24 hours before have reported back that they have motored constantly for the last 3 days.

Expects to have Galapagos abeam in 4 to 5 days – will make a decision then as to whether to call in for fuel.  Expect the passage from there to Marquesas to take about 18 days all going well.

Getting some great fish – promise of photos when we see them in Auckland
