We departed St Martin's lagoon today when the bridge went up at 1130am (30 minutes late with a dozen boats circling and waiting for the wee man to go to work!). There are SO MANY superyachts tied up at St Martins it is obscene. The private Lear jets that are coming and going add to the effect. Definitely where people like to be seen.

We came around to Gran Case Beach on the west side of the island where we will hop off from early in the morning to head for the BVIs to rendezvous with the Farinaccis. Sam and Richard came with us for a sail, lunch on board and then an early dinner at a "ribs restaurant" on shore. Had a great day with them. Gran Case is a nice beach, cute village, and much more grounded than the lagoon. Richard and Sam were walking back to their boat and we hope to catch up with them in the BVIs or down the line somewhere. They nearly have all their bits on the boat and are hoping to be out of St Martin tomorrow for the first time in 7 weeks.
