HELLO FROM TOBAGO
We have just had two lovely days in Charlottesville, and have moved today to
Store Bay at the southern end of the island. Tobago is beautiful, forest
covered, and golden sand beaches, with excellent tropically snorkeling.
Tobago and Trinidad were joined to South America awhile back and
geographically are more like S Am than the other Caribbean islands.
One disadvantage of the isolation of Tobago is that we are not receiving
Blackberry services with email so we are relying on the iridium address.
Email facilities are few and far between and somewhat erratic on whether
they are open or not. Island time reins. Also can't get mobile coverage!
Big walk to the top of the hill yesterday, vertical for 2.5 hours and 40
minutes run down! Lots of swimming, snorkeling etc. Hot and humid.
Friendly locals all seem to say hi and welcome to their island, and where
are we from? One of them was very pleased with how well Mike spoke English!
Nice sail down the coast today and moored before dark.
Off to Chagauramas tomorrow, near Port of Spain, in Trinidad. Hoping to
meet up with Essence, and also hoping that Ann has talked her mother into
meeting us there too!!!
Hope all well with everyone. Don't panic if you don't hear from us
frequently, we are OK, just short of technology!
Much love Shirley and Crew
