Really feel as if we are on the home stretch with the Nav system predicting
our arrival on the morning of New Years Day.
Last night was the most beautiful of our journey so far - warm constant
breeze from the east sufficient to give us about 7 knots boat speed with
smooth seas and bright moonlight until around 2.30am. much more of those
conditions and you could get to like this long distance passage making. As
a consequence we all slept quite well. Captain on the deck only twice when
he was supposed to be sleeping. Saw a ship pass ahead of us about 12 miles
away - together with the 3 on the previous night it seems we are approaching
land.
Skippy reported he saw two birds of different breeds chasing each other
around the boat this morning. why would they want to argue over the
proximity to Aurelia when they have the whole ocean to share??
More Skippy news - crew voted him greatly improved on his "Strangled Eggs"
this morning - although as he was serving up, one escaped custody and rushed
across the bench to hide in the sink. Streuth! (Actually a little stronger
utterance than that but we like this Aussie word)
Making water and charging batteries again this morning.
Kids doing lots of work on their journals and have nearly completed Spain.
Mother is MOST PLEASED.
