Having spent a week in Mylor Yacht Haven dodging torrential downpours and studying weather maps and files we finally saw a window to leave and on a murky Friday morning we left the marina at 11am heading for Baiona in Spain.

Initially the sea was flat and we had to motorsail into head winds for the first few hours.  The wind eventually veered more towards the forecast direction and strengthened allowing us to sail. Sailing close hauled through the night into fairly big seas made it a somewhat uncomfortable night and eating supper an art in itself!
