We intended to set off really early for Almerimar but just had to have a swim first of all! Wonderful! – as was our new transom shower!

The wind was very light and so we had to motor virtually all the way. The coast is still stunning with high hills but the further east every inch of semi flat land has a plastic greenhouse on it.  Apparently this is where the most of northern Europe get its winter vegetables from.

We arrived in Almerimar at 5 o’clock and tied up on the fuel/reception pontoon noticing that there was another British yacht at the other end.  They went off to their allocated berth and shortly afterwards we tied up beside them.  Whilst I was struggling with the stern line Richard was chatting.  There were six people on board but what I didn’t realise was that 2 of them were from the Vancouver 32 which had been in the boatyard beside us in Portishead.  A further coincidence was that the owner of the boat, Shalaine, lives in Weston and services the fridges in Broadway Lodge and knows a chap who Richard worked with there.  What a small world and what a coincidence.

They left this morning on their way back to Plymouth.
