The following morning the wind was still coming from the NE but wasn’t so strong so we decided to head up the E side of Ibiza in the direction of Mallorca.  We were hoping to meet up with Clare and Mike, daughter and son in law of friends but time was running out!

There is quite a narrow shallow passage between Ibiza and Formentera which we had to pass through and with the wind on the nose and wind over current it was not going to be the flattest of seas.  Anyhow we made our way through and even though the depth increased the seas did not correspondingly decrease!  What a surprise!  We motorsailed past Ibiza and entered a little bay called Cala Llonga.  It looked quite wide in the pictures in the pilot book but …  There was quite a swell which continued all night.  Consequently we were both up and down all night checking on wind direction etc
