Following our sleepless night in Lundy we were only too glad to wave it goodbye to sail down to Padstow.  We left at 10:30 and after a bit of a lumpy journey we tied up against the harbour wall at 8 in the evening.

We chatted with the couple in the boat in front who were on their way to sail round Scotland accompanied by their Labrador.  After enduring the freezing weather on the way down from Portishead we thought that they were quite mad to venture even further north!

We ended the evening in a pub on the quay (just behind the large motor cruiser) and managed to get back on board without falling into the water from the steep ladder on the harbour wall.

Next morning we were up bright and early – so bright and early that we had to wait until there was enough water for the lock to be opened ready for a long sail round Lands End to Penzance.
