Hello Blog!

It's 19.30 local time. Been a long day. Engine on constantly as the wind seems to have better things to do than lift our sails. Rather large swells rolling across acres of open ocean underneath stale, sullen clinically-depressed clouds in need of something to do. Warm, tropical air and oddly sticky heat this far north.

To paraphrase Blackadder; it feels stickier than the time Sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun.

The galley slaves kindly provided the remainder of Andrew's 10-gallon pot of UHT porridge for breakfast. For lunch, Blake made a cracking job of the Dorado's filets, which we had together with Hot Dogs on the deck. For supper, Clarissa rustled up a heart-warming lamb casserole.

Weather faxes arrived in the course of the afternoon. Though, judging by the wind direction this evening, they make no sense. Rather than delivering winds behind us, we have had to reef in the main sail this evening and push on through warm winds zipping across the bow.

The nights fall quickly as we proceed further east. Conditions are not so solitary however. Our local school of flying fish keep launching their kamikaze brethren, across the bows of Yellowdrama, this evening even managing to score a direct hit on Sasha in the cockpit. No cause for concern and no injuries sustained!

Andrew's beard showing form! Developing an eerie ressemblance to a jolly old seadog on tv, who flogs breadcrumbed fish sticks for a living!

785 miles behind us!

PS from Blake, Clarissa and Sasha

Sasha nearly got a taste of Sashimi Dorado at lunch time as Blake decided to discard the tail pieces of the dorado by throwing them direcly out of the companion way hatch.  Having never been any good at throwing (despite being from the town that celebrates the 'tuna toss'!) he slipped and both pieces flew either side of Sasha's head to her surprise.

Also, what the hell are the meteorologists doing out there??  All info I keep getting from GRIB and WeatherFax says we are on the South side of this Low pressure.  So why is it still blowing from the flamin' Southeast??  Grrr!!
