Late yesterday the fishing blokes (Andrew and Mark) had their
first big hit on the line! This was after reeling in a broken trace with
no lure on the end... There is something big out there.
Anyway.... we had just taken the spinnaker down for the evening and I
(Blake) saw a big splash in the water near the boat and said FISH!! All of
a sudden the line went ZING!!!!! We quickly slowed the boat while
Mark went for it on the pole. It got off unfortunately. A cooked
piece of steak was the trick - unfortunately the humans ate the
rest...
As for the rest of the night - the wind dropped and we motored
for a few hours to keep the speed up. Wind came up about 3am from the SW
and has continued. Looks like another nice Atlantic day!
